To promote its new Blu-ray Disc of Ghostbusters, due in stores June 16, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has launched the interactive Web site .
Visitors to the site are greeted by Harold Ramis, star and co-writer of the film, and invited to participate in a variety of activities, including signing up for a sweepstakes to win a trip to the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International.
Fans also can submit a personalized video for a chance to be featured on the site and BD Live. Candidates are asked to submit a “job application” in the form of a link to a video site where they have posted content explaining they have what it takes to be a Ghostbuster. Sony representatives will select their favorite videos to be featured.
Another feature allows fans to upload a photo to see what they would look like as part of the Ghostbusters team. Fans can pick up a $5 discount off the purchase of the Ghostbusters Blu-ray.
Additionally, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Atari and Fangoria magazine are inviting fans to a free screening of the film in high-definition at midnight June 3 at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, Calif. The screening includes a sneak peek at the new Ghostbusters: The Video Game, and a Sony video crew will be on hand for fans waiting in line to record their GhostbustersIsHiring.com videos. The line starts at 9 p.m.
