Millennium Entertainment will distribute Exclusive Media’s Hammer library on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, thanks to a new distribution agreement.
A Hammer Horror 3-film set will kick off the releases, with a April 2 street date for Dracula Prince of Darkness (1966), The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires (1974) and Frankenstein Created Woman (1967).
“Hammer is one of the most renowned and beloved film brands in the world and we are thrilled to bring the Hammer Films library to U.S. fans,” said Steve Nickerson, president of Millennium Entertainment.
The releases mark the first time in nearly a decade that the Hammer films have been released on disc (Anchor Bay previously handled distribution). Millennium plans limited-edition Blu-ray and collector’s sets for the library.
“We are really pleased to be in business with Millennium to bring the newly restored titles from our library to the United States in high-def for the first time,” said Peter Naish, SVP of distribution for Hammer. “Alongside the new extras we have created, we hope that our American Hammer fans will love the Blu-Ray collector’s editions and that these editions will also help new fans discover our rich history.”
