Fox, MGM Slate June Blu-ray Releases

On June 7 MGM Home Entertainment, distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, will release eight films on Blu-ray, including three musicals.

Musicals New York, New York, Hair and The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert are coming to Blu-ray, as are the films Death at a Funeral, The Long Riders, Posse, Vera Cruz and Original Sin. All of the titles cost $19.99 each.

New York is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Liza Minnelli and Robert De Niro in a film about the big-band era in New York. Hair deals with counterculture in 1960s New York. Priscilla tells of three drag performers in the Australian Outback. Death at a Funeral (2007 version) is a farce about a British funeral. The Long Riders is a Western about Jesse James and his gang of outlaws. Posse also is a Western, dealing with a mostly black infantrymen in the Spanish-American War. Vera Cruz stars Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster in a Western about mercenaries contracted to escort a beautiful heiress. Original Sin stars Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas in an erotic thriller about a wealthy Cuban merchant and his diabolical mail-order bride.
