‘Planet Earth’ Re-explored

BBC’s landmark nature documentary Planet Earth has been re-released as a special edition with new extras, but the images are as vibrant as ever. The new six-disc Planet Earth: Special Edition ($79.98 Blu-ray, $59.98 DVD) corrects an oversight on the original Blu-ray, which didn’t include “Planet Earth: The Future” and some behind-the-scenes footage (which were on the DVD version only).

New extras include commentary on select episodes, a collection of the most memorable moments from the show, a music-only audio track, more behind-the-scenes featurettes and a preview of the upcoming Frozen Planet.
