Anchor Bay Entertainment has inked a multi-year distribution deal with AMC Networks, giving Anchor Bay home entertainment distribution rights to future scripted shows from by AMC, IFC and Sundance Channel.
Sundance Channel’s "Rectify" and AMC’s upcoming “Low Winter Sun” are the first two new series that will see DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases in North America under the deal.
Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment, said the deal builds on the successful distribution arrangement with AMC for “The Walking Dead,” which has become Anchor Bay’s top-selling TV on DVD title.
“We’ve had a tremendous partnership with AMC the last couple years, and it’s worked out great for both companies,” he said. “This solidifies our position as a leader in the TV on DVD market.
AMC’s “Low Winter Sun” police drama stars Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy, Zero Dark Thirty) and Lennie James (“The Walking Dead,” “Jericho”), while the drama “Rectify” stars Aden Young (Killer Elite).
“Anchor Bay has been a terrific partner on ‘The Walking Dead’ and we look forward to continuing to work with them to extend the life of the series from AMC Networks’ into the DVD and transactional digital marketplace,” said Ed Carroll, chief operating officer for AMC Networks.
