Voting Is Open for the 2010 HD Awards

28 Jun, 2010 By: John Latchem

Warner Home Video’s seven nominations lead a diverse field of nominees for the Third Annual High-Def Awards presented by Home Media Magazine.

The studio’s nominated Blu-ray titles include The Hangover for Best Theatrical Title and the 70th Anniversary boxed sets of Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz for Best Catalog Title.

Paramount Home Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment each had five titles nominated. Paramount’s top title was the reboot of Star Trek, which pulled noms for Best Theatrical Title and Best Single Extra for its “Starfleet Vessel Simulator.”

A panel of judges rated a selection of studio Blu-ray submissions based on the complete treatment, including program content, bonus materials, packaging, and picture and audio quality. All titles released on Blu-ray Disc in 2009 were eligible for consideration.

Consumer voting for the awards is being conducted through July 30. (The ballot is located below.)

The winners of the Third Annual High-Def Awards, as well as the winners of the Sixth Annual DVD Critics Awards as chosen by a judges panel, will be announced in August.
