New Redbox Deal With Warner Shortens Rental Delay to One Week

Redbox May 22 announced a new distribution deal with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment that gives the kiosk vendor access to new releases seven days after their retail street date. Previously, Warner titles were available to Redbox 28 days after street date.

Trans World Entertainment Corp. founder Bob Higgins Trans World Entertainment Ups Q1 Income on Deceased Founder's Insurance Payout

Trans World Entertainment Corp. May 22 announced first-quarter (ended April 29) income of $3.5 million, compared with income of $27,000 during the previous-year period. TWEC attributed the increase to an $8.8 million life insurance payout on the death of founder Bob Higgins.

Amazon May 22 launched access in the United Kingdom and Germany to Amazon Channels — the company’s platform of proprietary and third-party SVOD services marketed to Prime members for a fee. Amazon Channels heretofore has been limited to the United States.
