Ingram Micro Enters Video Game Market

Ingram Micro Inc., thelargest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chainmanagement services, Monday announced its Canadian subsidiary launched IngramMicro XTREME Products Division, a new video game division of Ingram MicroCanada.

Ingram Micro XTREME is a fully integrated, end-to-end solution for video game customers and manufacturers.

"Leveraging our existing logistics infrastructure efficiencies to meet the needs of the industry, this new division is poised to take advantage of one of the fastest growing newcategories in the market," said Asger Falstrup, president, Ingram MicroCanada.

The newly formed division will integrate retail and vendor partnerships.Ingram Micro XTREME intends to make video software, accessories and hardwareavailable to retail resellers.

Ingram Micro's XTREME Products Division will draw on the expertise of Lang Moffat, a 15-year veteran of the video game business.

"Strategically partnering with key vendors will position Ingram Micro XTREME as a leading provider of electronic games in this growing market. Exploring the forefront of the games market demonstrates our commitment to the retail channel inCanada," said Falstrup.
