Court Orders Circuit City to Pay $1M to DVD Distributor
A bankruptcy court Feb. 3 ordered shuttered Circuit City Stores to pay Alliance Entertainment a lien payment of more $1 million for the warehousing and shipment of third-party DVD movies and related content to stores during the ongoing liquidation sale, according to a filing.

Lionsgate Posts $93.4M Quarterly Loss
In a switch, Lionsgate Feb. 9 cited the poor performance of its theatrical release slate — and not DVD — for reporting a $93.4 million third-quarter (ended Dec. 31, 2008) net loss, compared to net income of $7.3 million during the prior-year period.

Borders Gets Exclusive ‘Twilight’ Special-Edition DVD
Borders Group Inc. Feb. 9 said it has collaborated with Summit Home Entertainment to create an exclusive special two-disc limited-edition DVD boxed set of Twilight that will be available March 21, the same day as the Blu-ray, standard-DVD and electronic releases.
