DEG Reports Q1 2017 Home Entertainment Spending Increased 2%

Total domestic consumer spending on home entertainment in the first quarter (ended March 31) reached $4.7 billion, a 2% increase compared with the previous-year period, according to data from DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group.

Home entertainment continues to exhibit resilience in a streaming market as evidenced by Paramount Home Media Distribution reporting a 29% second-quarter (ended March 31) revenue increase to $198 million. The distributor generated $153 million in revenue during the previous-year period.
