Comcast Partners with Thumbplay for Mobile Access

Broadband service Comcast.net has partnered with Thumbplay to deliver music, ringtones, videos and games to the mobile phone.

Comcast.net, with 14.4 million high-speed Internet customers, and Comcast.net Mobile are units of Comcast Communications, the largest cable operator in the United States.

The site offers more than 130,000 video clips from such providers as ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, Disney, E!, G4, The Weather Channel and CelebTV.

Thumbplay offers users storage software to automatically backup and store purchased content, which can be shared as downloads with friends at Facebook.com.

New York-based Thumbplay claims more than 100,000 pieces of licensed content, including video games The Dark Knight, Resident Evil — Genesis, Crash Nitro Kart 2 and Jenga, among others.
