Xbox Interactive Ads Coming this Fall

Microsoft’s interactive NUads platform for the Xbox 360 will make its debut on the system this fall, the company said, with Unilever, Toyota and Samsung Mobile USA the first companies to try it on for size.

Microsoft’s Xbox Live Advertising team first showed off the ads in 2011. NUads allow viewers to respond to questions posed during 30-second advertisements by using the voice or motion-control features of the Kinect system. Viewers get real-time stats on how others are responding.

“Essentially with this we’ve reinvented the 30-second spot,” said Dionne Colvin, national market media manager for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A.

John Lisko, executive communications director for ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi LA, added: “The creative possibilities with NUads are endless. It’s changing the way we communicate with our consumers.”
