Pay-TV platform Epix said it will bow a free preview of its Xbox 360 app July 28-29 featuring 11 "Star Trek" movies and two original documentaries.

Epix, which is co-owned by Lionsgate, MGM Studios and Paramount Pictures, said it would make the “Star Trek Celebration” available to Xbox Live subscribers.

In addition to the "Trek" feature films (which range from 1979’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture to 2009’s Star Trek), original documentaries include The Captains and William Shatner’s Get a Life!

Captains analyzes the actors (Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks and Chris Pine) who have played a Starfleet captain, and also features Get a Life!, a separate doc that explores "Star Trek" fans, better known as “Trekkers” or “Trekkies.”

“Xbox is a great partner for Epix and we are thrilled to offer this unique experience to the massive fan base that the Star Trek franchise enjoys,” Epix CEO Mark Greenberg said in a statement. “Through this partnership we are able to reach an expanded audience that is using Xbox 360 and engage fans with our content to drive even greater awareness of our multiplatform offering.”
