Warner Home Video brings Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck into the 21st century, while putting a blue spin on the holiday season, as it releases The Looney Tunes Show on DVD Sept. 27 and The Smurfs Holiday Celebration on DVD Oct. 4.

The Looney Tunes Show: Season 1 Vol. 1 is listed at $14.97 and includes four episodes and four “Merrie Melodies” animated music videos for ditties such as “Grilled Cheese” and “I’m a Martian.”

The Looney Tunes Show: Season 1 Vol. 1 brings classic Looney Tunes to a brand-new generation of viewers and, while it stays true to the original cartoon, the look of the characters has been streamlined and updated with cutting-edge animation for a fresh and contemporary feel,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, WHV executive director of non-theatrical franchise.

The DVD reacquaints viewers with Bugs, Daffy, Porky Pig, Lola, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, the Tasmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian, Tweety, Sylvester, Speedy Gonzalez, Elmer Fudd, Pepe Le Pew, Roadrunner, Wile E. Coyote, Granny and Gossamer, and introduces the newest character, Daffy's no-nonsense girlfriend, Tina.

Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen from “Saturday Night Live” lend their voices for the cartoon as Lola and Speedy, respectively. Jeff Bergman voices Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn, Sylvester and Tweety, along with several actors who play various characters.

“These characters have been with us for decades and it’s wonderful to see them continue evolving,” Thomas said. “We think both classic Looney Tunes aficionados and newer viewers will embrace The Looney Tunes Show. It’s a must-have DVD for anyone who appreciates great animation.”

Warner lists another animated hit, The Smurfs Holiday Celebration, at $14.97 as well.

The disc includes two specials, Tis the Season to Be Smurfy and The Smurfs Christmas Special, wherein the lovable blue buddies share the Christmas spirit and emphasize giving and sharing.

The Smurfs Holiday Celebration offers consumers a set of two heartwarming stories that are sure to bring viewers into the spirit of the holiday season,” Thomas said. “What’s wonderful about both of these specials is that not only are they entertaining and enjoyable to watch, but they also offer young viewers important messages about selflessness and compassion. The Smurfs Holiday Celebration is a fun, seasonal title to own and also makes a great gift-giving idea.”
