Warner Entertainment Japan has hired Taichi Fukuda as GM, Warner Home Video and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, Japan.
In Fukuda's newly created position, he will manage home video and digital distribution in Japan, including sales, marketing, finance and operations, as well as manage studio strategic objectives such as transitioning to Blu-ray Disc and driving digital. He reports to William Ireton, president representative director, Warner Entertainment Japan, and Marc Gareton, EVP, WHV and WBDD, Asia and Pacific.
“Japan has the world's second-largest economy and is a technology leader,” Ireton said. “By unifying the home video and digital distribution businesses in Japan under Taichi, Warner Bros. will be well positioned to take full advantage of the cross-divisional opportunities that exist in this very important market.”
