Tom and Jerry Caught on UltraViolet24 Feb, 2012 By: Ashley Ratcliff
Iconic Hanna-Barbera foes Tom and Jerry go at it yet again in the upcoming release, Tom & Jerry: Journey Around the World, which Warner Home Video has slated for DVD and UltraViolet May 8.
Naples, Spain, Australia, Hawaii, New York and Hollywood are just a few stops featured in this globetrotting adventure. The 22-cartoon collection includes theatrical shorts, some which have won Academy Awards for Best Short Subject, as well as episodes from “Tom & Jerry Tales.”
“It’s a lot of fun to see these two iconic characters out of their typical environment and in new and exciting settings,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner executive marketing director of nontheatrical franchise. “What is equally exciting is that you get over two hours of international hijinks and an UltraViolet digital copy of the whole release.”
Warner March 6 also sends out Tom & Jerry: In the Dog House, which features the feline-rodent duo alongside Spike the Dog. The DVD includes 22 episodes, packed with chases, schemes and pranks, centering on Tom’s calculated attempts to capture the quick-witted Jerry.
“Tom’s Photo Finish,” in which Tom frames the family dog to avoid getting into trouble, and “Cat Napping,” which shows Tom trying to fish at a private lake that Spike is guarding, are just a couple of the memorable episodes viewers have to look forward to.
Both sets are listed at $19.97 each.
