Revisit the glorious 1990s with the show that redefined the rules of the ensemble sitcom with smart writing, witty scripts, great observational humor and winning cast chemistry. The episodes have been remastered from original 35mm film elements and expanded to widescreen for the HD presentation, and it looks great.
The packaging is classy and clean. Seasons are color-coded, with two discs per season, plus a bonus disc. Many extras have been ported over from the DVD sets. However, some of the bonuses from the DVDs are missing, such as most of of the extended episodes and a few commentaries.
Exclusives: The bonus disc includes some spiffy retrospective documentaries focusing on creating and making the show, and its legacy (though I wonder why no one wants to mention “Joey”). There’s also a 22-minute clip from the post-finale episode of “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” as well as a clip from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” a never-before-seen gag reel, a music video of the show’s theme song, and the original producer’s cut of “The One Where Rachel Tells Ross,” which had to be edited after 9/11.
