8 Oct, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

Switzerland-based free VOD service Viewster has inked an agreement with international distributor Fremantle Media to offer more than 110 hours of programming from six different BBC series.

The series include “Merlin,” “Clone,” “Peep Show,” “That Mitchell and Webb Look,” “Pulling” and Australian series “Satisfaction.”

“We’ve found that TV series are increasingly becoming our most popular offering,” said Viewster CEO Kai Henniges. “This is especially true of series from across the globe that aren’t as easily accessible free and on demand. Our acquisition of content from Fremantle Media bolsters our library significantly.”

Jeff Siegel, VP of U.S. digital distribution for Fremantle Media, added: “Fremantle Media has a well-deserved reputation for the breadth and depth of its catalogue and this makes us a great partner for Viewster. This agreement will ensure that Viewster’s audiences will get to enjoy a number of hit TV shows that have delighted audiences around the world.”

Viewster currently offers more than 5,000 ad-supported titles.
