Viewster Announces New Hires

2 Jul, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

Free online VOD service Viewster has announced several new hires across its locations in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore.

Tom Anderson is the new sales director for North America, based in New York; Jeremy Playle will be sales director for the U.K., based in London, and Vijay Anand Kunduri will serve as sales director for Asia, based in Singapore.

“Advertisers today are looking for premium environments online where they can reach large groups of targeted audiences. With 100% professional content and 100% mind share, and a large global audience, this is Viewster’s sweet spot,” said Viewster CEO Kai Henniges.

“Our most recent focus on expansion has been on the global forefront, so we are pleased to have Tom, Jeremy and Vijay on our team to continue shaping our business during this growth period,” Henniges added. “With global spending on online video advertising set to hit $14.7 billion by 2017 and as more advertisers move budgets away from TV, developing our advertising sales business is a key part of our global business growth strategy; our new team is crucial to ensuring we continue growing by monetizing that traffic.”

Viewster is a commercial-supported service, offering films and TV shows for free without a subscription. It’s currently accessible in more than 120 countries, and attracts an average of 8.3 million unique viewers in the U.S. each month.
