Verizon FIOS Offers Recent Hits at $2.99 on VOD

Verizon wants you to forget about the movie theater, and enjoy a cheaper movie night at home.

In May subscribers of Verizon’s FiOS TV service will be able to rent three recent box office releases — Marley & Me, Doubt and Frost/Nixon — on VOD for $2.99 each.

“Verizon FiOS TV is offering a way to save even more on movie nights at home,” said Shawn Strickland, VP of video solutions for Verizon. “Our video-on-demand is always a bargain compared with going to the movie theater, and these days, families are looking for ways to cut out expenses without cutting down on their fun.”

FiOS currently has a VOD library of 14,000 titles, 70% of them free. Each month the company is aiming to add 1,000 new pay titles “at bargain matinee prices.”
