TVN Has Oscar-Lauded Films

Slumdog Millionaire

Television on-demand company TVN Entertainment Corp. will release eight of last year’s Academy Award winning and nominated films on VOD between April 21 and the beginning of June.

TVN previously released Australia and Milk on VOD day-and-date with the DVD, and released Frozen River in March 2009.

The newest slate of films will be offered for $4 to $5 for a 24-hour viewing window.

April 21 saw the release of Universal’s Frost/Nixon and Fox’s The Wrestler. Sony Pictures’ Rachel Getting Married bows April 24, followed April 29 by Fox’s Slumdog Millionaire, the best picture winner.

May finds Disney’s Bolt (May 6), Miramax’s Doubt (May 7) and The Weinstein Co.’s The Reader (May 14).

Paramount’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button arrives on VOD June 3.
