In a twist, British satellite TV operator Sky is selling digital access to the complete fourth season of HBO comedy “Veep,” starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, ahead of its July 15 broadcast debut.
Calling it a “Fourth of July” special, Sky is offering subscribers the entire season, as well as season three of “Veep” as part of its “Sky Box Sets” platform. The sets are a supplementary package available to Sky Atlantic subscribers with a broadband connection and set-top box, and available for about $9 a month.
Season four of “Veep" currently airs in the United States on Sunday nights. Video on demand access to current and past seasons are typically limited to TV Everywhere services available to authenticated subscribers.
Sky currently offers 300 complete TV show seasons (including back seasons) for limited time periods.
Top 10 downloaded box sets in May included: “Game of Thrones,” “Modern Family,” “Prison Break,” “24,” “Revenge,” “Justified,” “Castle,” “Mad Men,” “Brothers and Sisters” and “Nashville.”
