MLB.com has signed on with ZillionTV, the Internet TV service said Dec. 16.
All Major League Baseball content will be free to ZillionTV owners in an ad-supported format, and will include archived games of the week, classic games and video recaps. Live games will not be included.
“We’re one of the first on-demand services to bring major league sports content to our viewers right from the start,” said Mitch Berman, executive chairman of ZillionTV. “The addition of MLB.com to our content portfolio means that we’re helping expand the reach of major professional sports within the growing digital space.”
Aiming to launch nationwide in mid-2010, ZillionTV has signed on all six major studios as content partners. The service, consisting of a small “Z” bar, connects to the Internet and delivers content to TVs. Users can choose whether to watch ad-supported content, rent, or download to own. Some content, such as new release films, are not available with ads.
