Fox, Duplass Bros. Go VOD First for ‘Do-Deca-Pentathlon’18 Jun, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey
Jay and Mark Duplass (Jeff, Who Lives at Home), writers, directors and producers of the comedy The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, will see their film hit VOD before theatrical, thanks to Fox Searchlight Pictures and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
The comedy about two grown brothers who restart their super-competitive childhood sporting event, will be released via VOD June 26, more than a week before Red Flag Releasing puts it in theaters July 6.
“Fox Searchlight has long been a pioneer in bringing independent films to mass audiences, so partnering with them and Red Flag in this new digital distribution model is a really exciting experiment for us,” the brothers said in a statement.
This is the second film from the brothers to be released under the Fox Searchlight Pictures banner, following 2010’s Cyrus.
