Epix Taps Lee11 May, 2011 By: Billy Gil
Former MGM, Fox and HBO executive Douglas A. Lee now will serve as EVP of programming acquisitions, strategy and enterprises programming for VOD platform Epix.
Lee will be based in Epix’s headquarters in New York and will oversee key programming areas. He will report directly to Epix CEO Mark Greenberg.
Lee said joining Epix is “in many ways like coming home,” as he previously served as EVP of worldwide digital media at MGM, helping launch Epix to begin with, along with partners Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate.
“I am thrilled to welcome Doug to the Epix team as a head programmer,” Greenberg said. “… Doug’s track record in creating successful new businesses combined with his studio experience at both MGM and 20th Century Fox, and his cable experience at HBO, makes him an ideal executive to oversee programming acquisition and scheduling at Epix.”
