Epix, the high-definition pay-TV and online streaming channel co-owned by Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount Studios, has inked its fifth carriage deal.
The New York-based service signed a deal this week with The National Cable Television Cooperative, based in Lenexa, Kan., which represents smaller cable operators around the country.
It is the fourth MSO (multiservice operator) to sign with Epix in the last four weeks, according to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, who mentioned the deal during a call with investors.
Feltheimer said the mini-major had to date invested $51 million in Epix. The signing brings to 20 million households that will have access to Epix content.
“Epix is working,” he said.
