24 Jun, 2013 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Cinedigm June 24 said it has signed a multiplatform home entertainment distribution agreement with Mondo Media, an Internet-based distributor of animation for teens and young adults. Notable Mondo properties include the entire “Happy Tree Friends” Web and television series franchise as well as animated feature film, Aachi & Ssipak.

Los Angeles-based Cinedigm, which has a catalog of more than 20,000 titles and 40,000 hours of content, distributes in theatres, VOD, home video and transactional digital outlets.

Mondo has racked up more than 1.7 billion views and 2.3 million subscribers cumulatively on YouTube, and recently hit the No. 1 spot on AdAge.com’s YouTube Original Channel Tracker.

“Cinedigm has a history of working with new media content creators and developing groundbreaking revenue opportunities across all platforms and marketing the properties via nontraditional windowing strategies,” CEO Chris McGurk said in a statement. “From our work with Felicia Day and ‘The Guild’ to ‘Red vs. Blue,’ we know a successful property needs to be accessible to its fans across all platforms and devices.”
