20 May, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey

Northeast cable operator Cablevision Systems has added high-def VOD content from Starz Entertainment’s Starz on Demand and Encore on Demand, including the series “Crash,” “Head Case” and “Party Down,” and films The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and Prom Night.

Cablevision customers who subscribe to Starz or Encore can access the content for free, while non-subscribers can order HD content starting at $4.95.

“As customers continue to embrace the superior HD home entertainment experience, we are enhancing iO TV by placing more quality HD content at their fingertips without the extra equipment costs or programming package fees charged by our competitors,” said John Trierweiler, Cablevision’s SVP of product management.

Cablevision’s premium iO TV service offers more than 400 channels.
