Vizio Debuts New HDTV Streaming Player

16 Oct, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

Consumer electronics company Vizio debuted a new streaming media player Oct. 16, the Co Star LT, a small, $80 box that can upgrade any HDTV into an Internet-connected app hub.

When connected, the Co Star LT brings Vizio apps — including Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, iHeart Radio, M-Go, Netflix, YouTube and Vudu — to any HDTV with an HDMI port. The set-top includes built-in WiFi, allows users to browse apps while watching live TV, and features a second-screen interactivity function for tablets and smartphones.

“The latest generation of Vizio Internet apps … represents years of forward-looking development and design,” said Vizio CTO Matt McRae. “Delivering more power through a new full-screen mode and enhanced multi-screen viewing features, the platform offers an incredibly intuitive and seamless entertainment experience.”
