Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is offering PlayStation 3 gamers a chance to pick up a special “Watchmen” collector’s set that includes both the director’s cut of the film on Blu-ray Disc and the Watchmen: The End is Nigh video game.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh Part 1 debuted in March 2009 as a downloadable game for Windows PC, Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network. Part 2 debuts July 21, in conjunction with the home video of the film, via download for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Both parts also will be available for purchase as a single game for Xbox 360 or PS3.

The PS3 version will be included in Watchmen: The End Is Nigh Complete Experience, which includes the Blu-ray Disc of the film. The two-disc Blu-ray film and game hybrid set will feature exclusive artwork in a premium package.

Part 1 of the game takes place more than a decade before the film, delving into the partnership of vigilante, costumed heroes Rorschach and Nite Owl (Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson, respectively, reprising their roles from the film). In Part 2, the pair reunite to find a missing girl.

The combat game features a split-screen co-op multiplayer option in addition to a single-player experience, offering players a chance to take on as many as 20 opponents at the same time.

The director’s cut of the film incorporates 25 minutes of unseen footage back into the movie.
