Target Launches Reservation Program for Video Games16 Apr, 2009 By: Billy Gil
Target has announced a new program whereby consumers can buy collectible reservation cards, priced at $1, for newly released video games. Consumers can then bring the card into Target stores within seven days of the video game’s release to purchase their reserved game, receiving in return a $5 Target gift card toward a future purchase.
“We’ve created a reservation guarantee that ensures guests will get their hands on popular games the day they are released, and a $5 Gift Card upon purchase adds even more value,” said Mark Schindele, SVP of Target.
The program begins with such newly released video games as Punch Out!! from Nintendo for the Nintendo Wii, EA Sports Active from Electronic Arts (Wii), Ghostbusters from Atari (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Wii, PC), Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings from LucasArts (Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP and PS2), and UFC 2009 Undisputed from THQ (Xbox 360 and PS3).
