13 Jun, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Sony Interactive Entertainment at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2017) gaming confab in Los Angeles disclosed it has sold 60.4 million PlayStation 4 video game consoles since the device’s launch in 2013. That’s an additional 400,000 units sold since the company reached the 60 million-unit threshold in April.

Sony also said the PlayStation network has more than 70 million monthly users globally spending in excess of 600 million hours per week on the platform.

In addition to game announcements God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Shadow of Colossus, among others, Sony released video footage of the newest Marvel’s Spider-Man game coming next year from Insomniac Games.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, the pending (July 7) theatrical release from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, features British newcomer Tom Holland as famed webslinger Peter Parker.
