'The "Lorax" Pledge Drive Aims to Save Energy

The Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) launched The Lorax Pledge Drive to help families save energy at home.

The initiative is timed to Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s Aug. 7 release of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax on Blu-ray ($34.98) and DVD ($29.98).

The Lorax Pledge Drive is a part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) team Energy Star initiative, which aims to educate American youth about the benefits of saving energy.

BGCA clubs collect pledges to save energy among their friends, families and community. Top pledge drivers will win an Energy Star qualified Samsung LED TV and a library of Universal movie titles. The top pledge driver also wins a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

BGCA, which serves nearly 4 million young people, joined EPA’s efforts and created their own Team Energy Star Challenges. The Lorax Pledge Drive is their latest challenge.
