The Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy

Universal Studios Home Entertainment is set to unleash The Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy on Blu-ray Disc Oct. 25 (order date Sept. 6).

The franchise began in 1993 with Jurassic Park, which centered on a theme park housing cloned dinosaurs that wreak havoc on visitors when they escape. The action-adventure series, based on the bestselling book by Michael Crichton and directed by Steven Spielberg, grossed nearly $2 billion combined at the worldwide box office.

Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001) have been digitally remastered, and the trilogy set includes a slew of all-new bonus material, including the six-part documentary Return to Jurassic Park, featuring interviews with castmembers, Spielberg and the filmmakers; making-of featurettes; a discussion with Crichton; a commentary with the special effects team; animatics of a T-Rex attack; a tour of Stan Winston Studio; deleted scenes; production archives; and more.

The three-disc Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray ($79.98) includes digital copies of each movie. Also available will be a standard-DVD version ($49.98) and a limited-edition Blu-ray trilogy gift set ($119.98), which includes a custom T-Rex dinosaur statuette.

The films star Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Attenborough, Ariana Richards, Joseph Mozzello, Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn, William H. Macy and Téa Leoni.
