Phelps Unwinds With 'Planet Earth'14 Aug, 2008 By: John Latchem
Gold medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps told People magazine that his preferred method of unwinding during the 2008 Olympics when he isn't racing is to watch the BBC Video documentary “Planet Earth.”Phelps' coach Bob Bowman told People.com that watching TV helps Phelps relax before a swim.
“Planet Earth, the documentary, is pretty much all I've been watching,” Phelps told reporters, according to People.
Burton Cromer, EVP of consumer Products for BBC Worldwide Americas, said, “We are proud and thrilled that Michael Phelps watches ‘Planet Earth' as part of his downtime routine in Beijing. Being recognized by one of the world's most famous athletes in the middle of one of the most epic sporting events shows how ‘Planet Earth' is an ever-growing phenomenon.”
