Infinity Entertainment Group will add to its slate of classic TV DVD products this June with the latest releases of “Sergeant Preston of the Yukon” and “Route 66.”
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon: Complete Season 2 streets June 16 (prebook May 12) as a four-DVD set at $39.98. The set will include all 23 episodes from the 1956-57 season of the classic adventure series set in the northern Alaskan wilderness during the gold rush of the 1890s.
The show starred Richard “Dick” Simmons as Sgt. Preston of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who kept order throughout the territory with the aid of his trusty dog Yukon King, his horse Rex, and his loyal French-Canadian guide Pierre. The show ran for three seasons from 1955 to 1958.
Arriving June 30 (prebook May 26) is Route 66: Season Three Vol. One at $29.98. The four-DVD set includes 16 episodes from the 1962-63 season of the anthology series about two men on a road trip through America. The series ran for four seasons from 1960 to 1964 and starred Martin Milner and George Maharis, who find a new adventure each week in their powder-blue 1960 Corvette.
Guest stars included John Astin, Buster Keaton, Sorrell Booke, Rod Steiger, Nina Foch, Ed Asner, Leslie Nielson, Ron Howard, Natalie Schafer, Julie Newmar and others. One episode includes special appearances by horror legends Lon Chaney Jr., Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff.
