Classic Media will re-release episodes of the “She-Ra: Princess of Power” 1980s animated series on DVD starting Sept. 28 through distributor Vivendi Entertainment.

In honor of the show’s 25th anniversary, Classic is preparing She-Ra: The Complete Series at $99.93 and She-Ra: Season 1 Vol. 1 at $19.93.

All 93 animated “She-Ra: Princess of Power” episodes are included in the complete series boxed set, and 20 episodes from the first season are featured in the Season 1 Vol. 1 DVD.

Introduced in 1985 as He-Man’s twin sister in the movie The Secret of the Sword, a television series followed called “She-Ra: Princess of Power” as a spin off to the animated TV show “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.”

“We are very excited to celebrate She-Ra’s 25th anniversary this year,” said Robert Mayo, SVP and GM, US Home Entertainment, Classic Media. “Since the 'She-Ra: Princess of Power' series debuted in 1985, She-Ra has been one of the world’s most popular female superheroes. Her strong, honorable character resonates with young girls and women alike and she serves as a powerful, positive role model.  We look forward to bringing fans The Complete Series for the first time, in a commemorative edition box set, and to introducing She-Ra and her story to the next generation of fans.”

Separately, Mattel Inc., which introduced the first He-Man and She-Ra action figures, in addition to sponsoring the TV series, will launch a new She-Ra action figure this fall.
