Report: New Miramax CEO Will Focus on Library10 Dec, 2010 By: Chris Tribbey
In an interview with The Associated Press, newly installed Miramax CEO Mike Lang said his first priority would be to boost distributor sales of the studio’s 700-film DVD catalog.
Lang also told the news organization Dec. 9 that he wants to see Pulp Fiction released on Blu-ray Disc and to move Miramax titles more aggressively in the digital space. He also wants to license the films to TV outlets, the AP reported.
“The TV market around the world is growing,” Lang told the AP. “They’re all going to need movies for their channels.”
The Walt Disney Co. sold Miramax to investment group Filmyard Holdings for more than $660 million earlier this month.
