Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution Digital Drivers 2017

Janice Marinelli President
Marinelli has one of the most unique and multifaceted roles within the industry. She is responsible for distributing both theatrical releases and television programming from global entertainment giant Disney/ABC across a variety of platforms, including physical (Blu-ray/DVD), electronic home video license, VOD, SVOD, pay-TV, basic cable, broadcast TV, syndication and digital licensing. Last year Marinelli strategically led the in-home division into unsurpassed areas of growth, capitalizing on the studio’s immense box office success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In 2016 the division boasted four best-selling digital titles in the top 10 and is already setting records in 2017. Digital sales for Moana, Marvel’s Doctor Strange and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are topping the charts, with the epic action-adventure thriller Rogue One projected to climb even higher. Most recently, Marinelli oversaw two unprecedented SVOD agreements with Hulu for all 180 episodes of classic sitcom “The Golden Girls,” as well as ABC’s hit comedy series “Black-ish.”

In addition, McLain directs consumer marketing for Disney Movies Anywhere, as well as the marketing campaigns in collaboration with the division’s digital retail partners. McLain and her team’s significant contributions helped bolster four titles into the digital top 10 in 2016 — Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, Zootopia and Finding Dory. Most recently, she led global product management for Moana, which reached the digital top spot with its release this year.
