Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution Digital Drivers 2015

Marinelli is responsible for the distribution and licensing of all titles from The Walt Disney Studios in post-theatrical windows in North America and in partnership with the company’s international territories. Under her direction, the divi-sion distributes films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, DreamWorks and others on disc, electronic home video, video-on-demand, subscription video-on-demand, pay-TV, cable, broadcast television, online and other digital technologies. She develops product and marketing strategies for the studio’s portfolio of brands, franchises
and characters across all in-home platforms. Marinelli also leads content distribution for the Disney-ABC Television Group portfolio in North America, licensing first-run and off-network content from ABC Studios, ABC Entertainment, ABC Family, Disney Channel and Disney Junior across multiple traditional and new-media outlets.  

DAN COHEN, EVP, pay-television and digital
Cohen and his team negotiate key VOD and electronic home video license deals for the studio’s films among a wide range of distributors in North America, securing deals with MVPDs, digital and mobile platforms. Most recently, he and his team negotiated the highly successful and collaborative launch with key digital retail partners including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, Playstation and Xbox for the release of Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection. He also led negotiations with Netflix in 2012 that will make them the exclusive U.S. subscription television service for Disney films beginning next year, and he spearheaded a similar agreement with them for their Canadian service in the pay-TV window. In addition, Cohen oversees all licensing agreements for TV content among various digital providers, and he works closely with the company’s global territories to align distribution efforts.

SUSAN MCLAIN, SVP, product marketing and distribution
McLain oversees in-home release plans and the overall product lifecycle for the studio’s theat-rical releases and TV content across all windows, formats and outlets. She drives marketing strate-gies for physical and digital distribution, windowing of releases, and cross-brand strategies, including physical-to-digital initiatives. McLain is tasked with driving consumer ownership of Disney-owned content. Most recently, she led global product management for the launch of Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection.

JARED GOETZ, SVP, pay-television, digital sales and general sales manager, SVOD
Goetz manages the day-to-day sales of all film and TV content to digital clients including Netflix, Amazon and Hulu in North America. This year Goetz has continued to grow the company’s rapidly expanding SVOD business by securing several new licensing agreements for programming from the Disney/ABC Television Group. He has also finalized lucrative Canadian SVOD deals with Crave for TV content and has successfully negotiated both film and TV content agreements with Netflix and Shomi in Canada.
