Chicago-based Music Box Films, best known for the foreign-language DVD release of Tell No One earlier this year, has decided to launch its own home entertainment unit.
The first two titles to be released under the Music Box Films Home Entertainment brand will be the French films Shall We Kiss (Feb. 23) and Seraphine (March 23). The company plans on releasing up to a dozen DVDs in 2010, including the German film Cloud 9 and the Swedish film The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
“Music Box Films has become a true force in independent cinema,” said Ed Arentz, managing director of Music Box Films.
Brian Brown, formerly with New Yorker Films, has been appointed head of sales for the new home entertainment division.
