Pact aims to establish Broad Green's home entertainment distribution infrastructure headed by Steve Nickerson
Broad Green Pictures and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment July 22 announced a multiyear distribution services agreement.
Under the agreement, Universal will exclusively manage back-room distribution services for all Broad Green titles on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, with Broad Green handling sales and marketing across all platforms.
Broad Green Pictures, a feature film financing, production and distribution company founded in 2014, will distribute up to 16 specialty and wide-release films per year across a multitude of platforms. This agreement will help establish the studio’s home entertainment distribution infrastructure.
“Partnering with Universal allows us to develop a strong distribution model that sets up the studio for lasting success,” Steve Nickerson, president of home entertainment at Broad Green, said in a statement.
Broad Green Pictures’ slate of movies include critically-acclaimed 99 Homes, A Walk in the Woods, Infiltrator, Brain on Fire, Samba, I Smile Back and Learning to Drive, as well as Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, Voyage of Time and his untitled project starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender.
“Pairing Broad Green’s fast-growing entrepreneurial company with Universal’s distribution infrastructure effectively positions both of us for long-term success,” John Morici, managing director of the U.S. and Canada for Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, said in a statement.
