Writers Guild Recognizes Warner Digital Series ‘Aim High’22 Feb, 2012 By: Billy Gil
“Aim High,” the social series that first debuted on Facebook and Cambio.com, has been honored with the Writers Guild of America’s award for outstanding achievement in writing for original new media.
The series, produced by Warner Premiere, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Dolphin Entertainment, was written by Heath Corson and Richie Keen and stars Jackson Rathbone (“The Twilight Saga”) and Aimee Teegarden (“Friday Night Lights”) in the story about a high school student living a double life as a government operative.
The show was innovative for allowing consumers to become part of the show, allowing them to integrate their profile information (including photos, text and friends) while watching the show on its Facebook page and seeing themselves or their friends integrated into select scenes, such as seeing their photo appearing on a student body election poster.
“I’m thrilled to see ‘Aim High’ being recognized for its amazing storyline,” said series producer McG. “Everyone involved with the production of ‘Aim High’ is extremely proud to be part of this show's success, and we’re looking forward to launching additional seasons in the future.”
“It is a great honor for ‘Aim High’ to receive a WGA award,” added Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group and office of the president, Warner Bros. Entertainment. “The show’s rich, engaging storyline is the result of Heath and Richie’s tenacious efforts to bring this story to life.”
