Starz Goes Multiplatform for Original Series Debut

Starz debuted its new original series “Power” in unique fashion May 31.

The entertainment company premiered the crime drama across multiple online platforms, including Twitter, a first-ever usage of Twitter’s new in-line video feature, which enables one-touch playback.

The series also premiered on starz.com/power, online via select Starz cable, satellite, telco, and online distributors’ Web sites, the Starz “Power” Facebook and MySpace pages, the Starz YouTube page, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, Sony Entertainment Network and CinemaNow.

Starz said its multiplatform endeavor with premium pay TV distributors had an estimated, potential reach of 79 million total houeholds. The series premieres on Starz June 7.
