Popcornflix, the ad-supported streaming service from Screen Media Ventures, June 2 announced the addition of four children’s series to its Popcornflix Kids app.
New content includes all seasons of “Life With Derek,” a Canadian family sitcom that aired through 2009 on the Disney Channel in the United States.
Other shows include “Dragon Booster,” an animated series about the adventures of a stable boy riding a dragon; “St. Bear’s Doll Hospital,” a preschool series in which puppets mend broken toys and dolls; and “My Animal Family,” a narrated series featuring footage of wild animal families.
These new series join other content already available on Popcornflix and Popcornflix Kids, including “Big Comfy Couch” and cartoon classics like “Betty Boop” and “Popeye.”
“Families are looking for kid-friendly entertainment options that won’t break the bank and are accessible from a wide range of devices,” David Fannon, EVP at Popcornflix, said in a statement. “Shows like ‘Life With Derek,’ about a modern-day blended family, resonate with a lot of kids today.”
