NBC Universal, exclusive U.S. broadcaster of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, has teamed with AT&T to bring live coverage of the events to fans. The games run Feb. 12-28.
Under a seven-event contract through 2012, AT&T will provide a managed private networking solution that can transfer high-definition video from NBC’s on-location production facilities to NBC’s U.S. facilities, which can then distribute the coverage on televisions, AT&T mobile phones and NBCOlympics.com for video streaming.
AT&T recently announced a separate agreement with NBC to provide exclusive all-hours event coverage on AT&T mobile phones, AT&T U-verse TV and broadband-enabled PCs.
