Mobile entertainment company mSpot.com April 15 launched a loyalty program that allows members to rent new-release movies at discounted prices on portable devices, including the iPad, iPhone, Android, tablets, connected TVs, PCs, Macs and related smartphones.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based mSpot’s new monthly memberships (www.mspotmovies.com) include the $4.99 monthly Movie Club, which affords members 20 credits (or four new release movies), a $7.99 Plus membership giving users 40 credits (or eight movies), and a $15.99 Premium option for 80 credits (or 16 movies).

Users can also rent individual VOD movies in standard definition from $1.99 to $3.99 each.

New releases available include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Tron: Legacy, Litle Fockers, Tangled, The Tourist, The Fighter, Case 39, How Do You Know, Life As We Know It, The Town, The Kids Are Alright, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Secretariat, Buried, Jackass 3 and Due Date.

“We’re finding that many of our customers want to watch new-release movies that are not yet available for streaming on Netflix,” mSpot CEO Daren Tsui said. “We’ve always competed very well with our new-release selection and we’re excited to offer our customers more competitive pricing.”
