Upstart streaming service secures exclusive rights to theatrical comedy starring Matthew Lillard, Rachelle Lefevre and Tom Arnold prior to film’s DVD and Blu-ray bow

Philadelphia-based streaming platform FlixFling.com Oct. 19 said it has secured the digital rights through December to comedy The Pool Boys, which was released theatrically Sept. 30.

FlixFling allows users to subscribe monthly or rent (from $3.99) and/or purchase (from $9.99) a-la-carte digital files of catalog Hollywood movies, which can be watched on myriad digital devices, including a connected television, Roku player, iPhone, iPad, Android device and Facebook.

The Pool Boys stars Matthew Lillard (Scream, House, Scooby Doo, Without a Paddle) as a down-on-his-luck pool boy and Brett Davern (This Is Awkward, “Cold Case,” “CSI Miami”) as his Harvard-bound cousin, who team up with a gardener (Efren Ramirez) and local escort (Rachelle LeFevre from original Twilight) to turn a client’s swanky mansion into a brothel.

The film (http://www.flixfling.com/index.php?type=movies&action=6327) also features Tom Arnold (True Lies, Roseanne), Playboy’s Sheena Lee and George Takei (Star Trek).

Last month FlixFling launched a channel for indie filmmakers.
