FilmStruck Offering Roku Express Holiday Gift

15 Nov, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

FilmStruck, the subscription streaming movie service from Turner Classic Movies and the Criterion Collection, became the latest over-the-top video service to jump on the Roku promotional bandwagon.

The SVOD Nov. 15 announced a holiday promotion that includes a Roku Express streaming media device.

Consumers of a one-year ($99) FilmStruck gift subscription purchase receive a free ($29.99 value) Express streaming device. The offer is available until Dec. 31 while supplies last and is available at Filmstruck.com.

FilmStruck claims the largest streaming library of contemporary and classic arthouse, indie, foreign and cult films.

Roku has aggressively promoted the Express, including exclusive retail distribution at Walmart on the device’s Oct. 8 launch date. In 2016, Roku included a free Roku 3 to new Spectrum TV Plus OTT video subscribers.

Los Gatos, Calif., based Roku last summer began giving new DirecTV Now subs a free ($49.99) Premiere device. Dish Network’s Sling TV gives new subs a free Express when pre-paying two months of the online TV service.
