Digital Development Group Forecasts 2013 Results29 May, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey
Over-the-top TV content company Digital Development Group (DigiDev) has brought on actor Charlie Sheen as a special advisor and partner, and is expecting revenue of approximately $500,000 during the second half of the year, the company said May 29.
The Hollywood, Calif.-based company delivers TV content to Internet-connected devices and is headed by CEO Martin Greenwald, former CEO of Image Entertainment. Subscribers at digidev.tv pay $4.99 a month for unlimited access to content from Cinema Libre, Media Blasters, Synapse Films and more.
“We are now close to the completion of our technology deployment, which puts us past start-up phase and into focusing on more content and more channels,” said Joe Bretz, DigiDev’s president and co-founder. “We are moving forward with a subscriber base that continues to grow with every new channel release of engaging, original programming.”
The service will have 10 channels by the end of May, and the goal is to have 40 channels available by the end of the year, Bretz said.
“We are in the first stage of a rapidly developing technology, and we are at the epicenter,” Greenwald said. “I'm proud to be a part of this team that has done an extraordinary job positioning the company to be a major innovator and player in the OTT universe.”
